Please read the following requirements carefully. You will be asked to agree to these guidelines when you make your submission. When you are ready to submit your work, please click this link to register. After registering, you can begin entering your works. You don't have to enter them all at once. You can log in again later to enter more works, up to a total of five. You will be able to log in and edit your submissions through the submissions deadline.
ELIGIBILITY: The show is open to all artists age 18 and older regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or geographic location. Artwork must have been executed within the past 24 months, and not have been shown before at MOREcolor or in the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center Gallery. Work is selected based on artistic merit.
SUBMISSION: All submissions must be completed using the online submission form by the date and time shown on the Important Dates page. Artists who do not have access to a computer may use the public computers in the David Bohnett CyberCenter located in the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center, 621 East 4th Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma. A single $15 submission fee covers up to 5 artworks. Fees are non-refundable; OkEq pays ArtCall.org for each submission and we cannot obtain refunds, either. Artists may submit up to 5 works for consideration. Medium, title, price and year of execution must be included for each work, along with a digital image file for each work. ALL WORK MUST BE FOR SALE (no NFS).
SIZE: Hanging work is limited to a maximum of 86” horizontal, 86” vertical including frame, and must not weigh more than 50 lbs. Work created for freestanding display or on a pedestal or tabletop may be of any size which can enter the exhibition space through our 72” wide by 79” high Event Center doorway.
PUBLICITY: A poster and invitation card will be created using a selection of the images submitted for the show. This design will also be available in PDF format for the artists to send to their own lists. By submitting artist grants permission for use of submitted images or facsimiles or portions thereof to be used for promotional purposes by Oklahomans for Equality.
LIABILITY: The artist accepts responsibility for loss or damage.
DELIVERY OF ARTWORK: Artists will deliver work to the Equality Center, 621 East 4th Street, Tulsa, OK, 74120-3017 on the date and time specified on the Important Dates page. Each piece must be temporarily labeled with the artist’s name, title, and price. We will produce identifying cards for the show ourselves. OkEq has NO storage space, so early drop-off or late pick-up will not be permitted. All work must remain for the duration of the show. You may have someone else deliver your work; they must bring with them a copy of your submission confirmation email printed out, both for drop-off and pick-up. Shipped artwork must arrive at the above address between the ship dates shown on the Important Dates page, and include a printed copy of the submission confirmation email. Artists who choose to ship rather than hand-deliver must send a check for return shipping charges per accepted item along with the artwork. All delivered or shipped artwork must meet the Display-Ready Requirements below.
DISPLAY-READY REQUIREMENTS: All work must be prepared for presentation and ready to hang or otherwise display upon delivery. Work that is not ready for hanging and presentation will not be exhibited. No exceptions. All 2-dimensional work must be framed and wired for hanging, or gallery-wrap canvas and wired for hanging. Unframed canvases must be "gallery wrapped," i.e., the stretched canvas may be no less than 1.25 inches deep, wrapped around to the back of the stretcher and attached only at the back of the stretcher, with the painted image wrapping around on all sides. Photography and works on paper must be framed and wired for hanging. Three-dimensional work that is to be displayed on a horizontal surface needs no further preparation, but you may bring your own pedestal for the curator to consider.
RECEPTION: An opening reception will be held on the date and time shown above. This reception is free and open to the public and participating artists are encouraged to attend and invite patrons and friends. Business cards are also welcome but may be displayed only on the purchase table. No brochures, please. All ages are welcome at the reception and to view the exhibition through the run of the show.
SALES: All work must be for sale, (no NFS) with the exception of Installation or Performance work. Oklahomans for Equality will keep 30% of the sales price with the remaining 70% to be paid to the artist at the close of the exhibition unless the artist opts to donate the full price of their work to OkEq. The decision to donate will not be a consideration of the jury in selecting work for the exhibition.
PICK-UP: Unsold work and the artist’s check for sold work must be picked up on the date and times shown on the Important Dates page at the Equality Center 621 East 4th St, Tulsa. OkEq cannot accept responsibility for work left beyond the designated pickup time. Work left for more than 30 days becomes the property of OkEq. If you must have your work picked up by someone else, they must bring and present a printed copy of your submission confirmation email. Shipped artwork will be return shipped to within 10 days after the pick-up date.
